The Edinburgh International Festival was founded in 1947 and is the hub of Edinburgh’s festival events.  The festival runs for about four weeks with a multitude of theatre, dance and music. The Festival culminates with a fireworks display at the world famous Edinburgh Castle.



The Edinburgh Festival Fringe runs at the same time as the International Festival. The Edinburgh Fringe is the world’s largest art festival, with thousands of shows each year. The Fringe offers comedy, drama, music, circus events and so much more.

The Royal Edinburgh Military Tatoo held at Edinburgh Castle is not to be missed.  Pipers, drummers, musicians and dancers from around the world come together to bring you an experience like no other.  If you would like tickets to the Tatoo, we would be happy to book them for you.

The Edinburgh International Book Festival brings together world-class authors.  Numerous events are held throughout the festival.

Rosslyn Chapel was founded in 1446, as the Collegiate Church of St Matthew.  The chapel is only ten minutes from Greenlees by car or a lovely twenty minute cycle ride.  There are numerous legends associated with Rosslyn which date back to the 15th century.  There is a coffee shop and gift shop at the visitor center.  Rosslyn Chapel is not to be missed.
